For a first stay, the central medina puts the souks, Place Moulay Hassan, ramparts, harbor and beach approach within easy walking distance, while offering the widest choice of riads and restaurants. Accept the luggage walk and occasional lane noise in return for being in Essaouira rather than merely beside it.
