Peru is open to leisure tourists and inbound tourism is still active, but travel is not low-risk. The main problems are crime, protests/strikes, and weather-related disruption, especially in Lima, the Andes, and remote border/VRAEM areas. Expect occasional transport interruptions and use extra caution with taxis, money, and overland travel.
