Fairbanks International Airport: Rent a car at FAI and drive the Parks Highway (AK-3) south to Healy: roughly 2½ hours in good conditions. There is no dependable airport-to-Healy public-transport transfer; this is the practical choice. In summer, the Alaska Railroad can be a scenic alternative from Fairbanks to Denali, but it is slower and leaves you about 11 miles south of Healy at the Denali depot.
Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport: A rental car is the sensible transfer: about 240 miles/4½–5½ hours via the Glenn and Parks highways, longer with construction, rain or wildlife stops. The Alaska Railroad’s summer Denali service is scenic rather than efficient—plan most of a day to the Denali depot, then a prearranged shuttle, taxi or rental car for the final 11 miles to Healy.
Denali Depot (Alaska Railroad): This is the useful rail arrival point for the Healy/Denali area, not Healy itself. Arrange a lodge transfer, taxi or rental car in advance for the roughly 15–20 minute trip north to Healy; do not assume a cab will be waiting. Rail service is seasonal and schedules/fare levels vary substantially by date.
